Wealth guru hits NZ
By LOIS WATSON - Sunday Star Times | Sunday, 25 November 2007 Allegations of unfair conduct and misrepresentation from dozens of disgruntled clients on two continents did not stop a self-styled "wealth consultant" peddling his wares to hundreds of Kiwis across the country last week.
British-born Roger Hamilton who claims to be "Asia's leading wealth consultant" peppered his presentations with references to connections with powerful celebrities like Oprah Winfrey and former US President Bill Clinton, while trying to extract almost $12,000 a head from those attending his seminars.
But he did not tell those at his Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch seminars last week that his XL Results Foundation is mired in controversy.
The foundation touts itself as the largest entrepreneur network in Asia-Pacific and claims to connect more than one million entrepreneurs and business professionals worldwide.
Life membership costs $US8900 ($11,700), an investment Hamilton, who is based in Bali, says will open doors to a wealth of opportunities. But it is understood more than 100 Singaporeans who paid up to $US8000 for life memberships over the past two years are receiving refunds after promised business networking opportunities allegedly failed to materialise.
Several legal battles are under way and complaints were filed last year with Singapore's consumer protection and commercial affairs regulators by clients alleging the foundation coaching is of poor quality and the networking services intangible.
Complaints were also filed with the Fair Trading Ministry in Australia where Hamilton, 38, has also been promoting his foundation. Those complaints were investigated but no legal breaches were uncovered.
Hamilton denies any wrongdoing and says the allegations are spawned by a single disgruntled former employee.
At Friday's breakfast seminar in Christchurch, attended by about 100 mainly small business owners, Hamilton continued to extol life membership benefits.
Questioned by the Sunday Star-Times after the seminar, Hamilton said "hand on heart" there was no substance to the allegations against him and his foundation, and that he was the victim of an orchestrated smear campaign.
In any large organisation there would be "one or two" unhappy members, but the foundation was quadrupling in size every year which suggested the majority of members found it worthwhile and believed in it. There were about 500 New Zealand members.
Star-Times inquiries show the Commerce Commission has fielded no complaints about the foundation.
End: Fairfax Media

Posted - Sep 04 2010 : 16:13:32 Roger James Hamilton ran XL Nation which collapsed in late 2008 after his massive irresponsible money mismanagement. There was not even anyone sorting out the finances in the company so there was not any knowledge about what income or expenditure there was. This coupled with Roger's extravagant spending caused it all to come tumbling down. XL how has a website with members who no longer are getting what they paid for.
He left investors and members of XL broke and has said he does not have any money to pay anyone back. Investors gave him money that he said he would invest and he assured them it would be invested and pay them a high return. He never invested the money – he used it for himself. He is a fraud who does not practice what he preaches. So nice that he has the money to take himself and his family to Las Vegas in 2010 when he is broke and living the life of a pauper!!!!!! He sent his daughter to Greece recently as well!!!!
He lives the high life in Bali with servants to tend to the housework and everything else. The house he lives in is spacious and very nice. Not so for the people who contact him on a regular basis to ask where their money is and when they will get it back only to get a reply that he does not have any and he is struggling.
When will he stop conning people into thinking he is Asia’s leading wealth consultant!!!! Beware of Roger James Hamilton and do not give this man any money. You will never see it again.

Urgent Update for the attention of country and city leaders sent 10th July, 2009
Hi all,
Hope everyone is well and apologies for the very short notice. Normally I do a shout out to remind everyone to be on the call... Today its to let you know the call has been postponed until later in the month. I am rescheduling it for Friday 24th July, as we are still awaiting the outcome of some of those decisions. I want to be able to communicate to you with transparency and clarity and that will mean holding off until then.
Following last weeks meeting in Bali, we have some decision making and major reorganising to do internally which will impact on many areas of the business, including the country and city leaders. You of course will be aware that we are facing some major cash flow issues and that we are behind with many of our payments including the commissions right now and that is our focus.
Meanwhile I have started some one to one calls with leaders and suppliers to give some background and awareness of where we are at just now and will continue to do this. You can call me direct to discuss if this would be of value to you right now as well.
You can re register here for the call on the 24th. http://www.xlworld.org/events/country-and-city-leader

Posted - Apr 09 2009 : 04:45:43 Roger Hamilton and the XL Results Foundation Scam Golden in Seychelles Anyone who is following Roger and his global con job must have read by now that XL Singapore Private Limited is owned by a holding company registered to a P.O. Box in the tax haven nation, Republic of Seychelles. Many small companies and hedge funds have off shore accounts and even companies to funnel millions of dollars globally. A business savvy decision by Roger to incorporate his organization in Africa?
Lets see, XL Results Foundation, registered as a Pte Ltd company in Singapore in 2001, lists its principal activities as “1) Technical, vocational and commercial education and 2) Mail order agencies (including sales via telephone and internet)” from ACRA business profile. Roger had told me that he was near financially broke when he first moved to Singapore. His business is his CD programs, membership sales, seminars and publishing. Hardly a cash cow that requires an intricate corporate and finance structure that span 2 continents. Savvy business decision or something more sinister? Your call.
As of today, he is untouchable to the hundreds of members he had recruited and even ex-employees, who are seeking compensation.

Note: XL Results Foundation has closed its head office in Singapore with monies owed to members, ex employees and service providers. |

Posted - Nov 11 2008 : 15:21:35 This has been an interesting discussion. I only butted in here after someone had blogged that Dr John Demartini was way better than Roger Hamilton. After googling RH, I looked for the dirt. You guys have put a lot of effort in here and should be congratulated. So what's in it for you. Well XL Wealth have a lot to lose and not much to gain by continuing with this. The anti-XL Wealth poster/posters? suffers from a sense of personal grievance but does this mean that his/her views are unsound? They may be. They may be based on false reasoning and on a biassed selection from facts. The only way to ascertain this, however, is to check his/her conclusions against the facts. If we do this and decide that his/her views are ill-founded, we may then be able to show that he/she would not hold them if he/she were free from personal grievance, but we must examine his/her views on merit first. We may very well find that personal failure, instead of making him prejudiced, has directed his/her attention to genuine defects in XL Wealth Management which he otherwise would have ignored. I suspect , on first glance, there's a little bit of both on each side. J Saxby Scotland. |

Posted - Sep 26 2008 : 20:57:32 Well done to the blog Businesses from Hell. This website is clearly doing a service to the community. Why else would Roger Hamilton and the XL Results Foundation keep posting ludicrous postings alleging journalists did not do due diligence, posters are fake and even this blog Businesses from Hell is fake.
XL Results Foundation is fearful of this blog and its 10,000 hits and rising. This is an informative post where consumers can source useful information about XL Results Foundation and its deceitful operations.
XL accuses respected journalists from Fairfax media and other respected newspapers such as the Straits Times in Singapore of not doing due diligence. Has any legal action commenced against any international media who have alerted the community against this scam? XL Results Foundation is conducting a malicious campaign against members of the community and bloggers who are alerting individuals of the scam.
Not surprisingly XL is posting blogs to confuse and misinform the public as they are about to commence a UK wide sales trip to recruit more victims into the XL Life Memberships. All typical strategies of a scam and conmen. Clearly people can see the evil intent of these individuals and wish to expose them. As the saying goes desperate men do desperate things.
Roger Hamilton and XL Results Foundation is promoted by Triumphant Events in the UK a company that has been prosecuted by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission for duping small business owners. http://www.accc.gov.au
No wonder XL is running a global smear campaign against anyone who says anything which questions its operations.

To respond to your point – as you will be aware – both those articles were published off the back of bogus emails sent to these papers that pretended to be from press advisories and containing “Breaking News”. Neither article have any first-hand sources other than responses from Paul Dunn and Roger Hamilton to the “Claims”. Both articles make the point at the end that no wrongdoing by XL has been found. Full details on how these articles were engineered are here: http://xlresultsfoundationlegalfile.wordpress.com/xl-media-advisory/

Posted - Sep 25 2008 : 10:20:51 Dear Miscellany / Steve Schapel,
Your blog “Shoky Operator” is your opinion from someone who has not been a customer, member or partner of XL and so people will treat it accordingly. In it you say “I need to find a coach I can ‘click’ with. I have no idea, of course, about any of the coaches within that organisation”. Within XL you will find we have many very respected coaches and entrepreneurs who are not the kind of people to get involved with a “Shonky” company. Their activities within XL are also fly in the face of your assumption of XL – that our members would not get value and are unlikely to know value when they see it: http://xlgroupblog.com/latest/2008-xl-extraordinary-lives-award
You must be aware yourself that all the replies to your blog are from anonymous sources that follow the same pattern we have pointed out above – of simply pointing blogs to blogs. So while you have our apologies that we have assumed you were as fictitious as the other posts above, to post into this fabricated blog under the name “Miscellany” make it easy for such a mistake to be made.
While your blog is an opinion and does not purport any facts or evidence of illegal activity, contents in this blog and its links are claiming such ‘facts’. XL has made a point to draw a line between the two. All businesses and organizations will attract varied opinions, which will grow stronger on both sides the more successful they become. Legitimate organizations that are faced with false and/or defamatory claims on the other hand are likely to make a stand on them. We will continue to do so.
